TechBA - Madrid
With a population of 5 million inhabitants, Madrid is the autonomous community with the highest investment rate for research and development in Spain, representing 34% of the total financial resources allocated for this sector. Madrid has more than 2,500 high technology organizations and more than 19,245 million Euros in revenues in this field.
TechBA Madrid began operations in November, 2006, establishing an alliance with Parque Cientffico de Madrid (PCM) Business Development Unit. The main fields supported by PCM are Biotechnology, Biomedicine and Agro food; Information Technologies; New Materials and Nanotechnology; Environment and Renewable Energies.
Additionally, TechBA works with different Spanish institutions which help the program to achieve its goals; some of these institutions are:
- Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad Complutense de Madrid-PCM's sponsors.
- Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial -An organization which provides incentives for innovation, research, and development of business projects.
- Interés -An organization that helps to raise venture capital.
- Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior, that supports exports from Spanish companies to international markets.
- Prestigious consultant companies like International Venture Consultants (IVC), and ATOS Consulting.
